Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 2 January 2026

Your privacy is the highest priority when you use the MiXplorer file manager. This document is our commitment to transparency, and it explains how we protect your data while providing powerful features. We want you to feel secure when managing your files.

We designed MiXplorer to operate locally on your device without collecting your personal information. By choosing to use our app, you agree to the privacy-respecting practices outlined in this policy.

Advertising

This app does not display any third-party advertisements. We believe in providing a clean and focused user experience without interruptions.

Furthermore, MiXplorer does not use any advertising identifiers or tracking services. No data handled by this app, including any data accessed via third-party services like Google Drive, is ever used for advertising purposes.

User Data Collection and Use

No Personal Data Collection: Our fundamental principle is to protect your privacy. MiXplorer does not collect, store, or upload any of your personally identifiable information. This includes, but is not limited to, your location data, contacts, financial data, name, or address. The app's functionality is designed to operate entirely on your device.

On-Device Credential Storage: To connect to third-party network services that do not support modern OAuth 2.0 authentication (such as some FTP, Mega.nz or Mail.ru servers), you may need to enter a username, email and password. These credentials are saved in an encrypted format exclusively within the app's private storage folder on your own device. They are never sent to us.

Device-Specific Data for Security and Functionality:

MiXplorer Add-ons: The official add-ons for MiXplorer (MiX Archive, MiX Codecs, etc.) act as external libraries to extend functionality. They do not request their own permissions and do not collect or transmit any data from your device.

Integration with Google Drive

To allow users to manage their files with Google Drive, MiXplorer uses Google's secure OAuth 2.0 API and the `https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file` scope. MiXplorer's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Data Accessed:

Data Usage:

Data accessed via the Google API is not used for any other purpose, such as advertising, and is never transferred, sold, or shared with third parties except as necessary to provide the app's core functionality.

Log Data

If you choose to enable the logging option in the app’s settings, MiXplorer will record details about its operations in text files stored locally on your device. To prevent these log files from consuming too much space, the app uses a log rotation system. This means that once a predefined limit is reached (based on size or number of files), the oldest log file will be automatically and permanently deleted to make space for a new one. This entire process is automatic and occurs only on your device. Log data is never transmitted to us or any third party.

Links to other websites

App Resources: To provide resources such as themes, language packs, and changelogs, some buttons within the app will open a link to our official website (mixplorer.com).

Children’s Privacy

This app is intended for users 16 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. Our fundamental policy is not to collect personal data from any user, regardless of age. If you are a parent and believe your child has used this app to store credentials for a cloud service, we advise you to help them remove that account from the app's settings. Please contact us at mixplorer@gmail.com with any concerns.
